Azevedos Group
History
Since Chemist Azevedo was established in 1775 until today, we’re proud of having introduced the first medicine in Portugal and having participated in the Nobel Prize of Medicine attributed to Professor Egas Moniz.

Throughout over two centuries at the service of medicine, we have always been at the forefront of pharmaceutical development. Among many other Galenic formulas, we produced the first penicillin ointment, we introduced the first antibiotic against typhus fever and the first poliomyelitis vaccine in Portugal.

Aware of our long history, we try our best to honour our tradition in order to keep deserving the trust of our partners through loyal competition, rigour in our market operations and through the sharing of the values we believe in.

Today, Grupo Azevedos is among the most solid pharmaceutical groups in Portugal. The wide platform we’ve built serves as a base to launch new and innovative projects, setting new standards in the pharmaceutical industry
